| I have decided to go with the Aimpoint pro, found a demo model on optics planet for $389 and some change would any of you be put off from buying a demo model? Or should I give the extra money and get a brand new one? |

I'm not a fan of optics planet. They will say things are in stock but once you order and they have your money they will tell you its back ordered. Not happy at all with them. I ordered two of the Aimpoint PRO dealer demos on the first of January, said they were in stock, then suddenly went back ordered. Took a little over a month to actually receive them. Now, as far as the actual Aimpoints, other than the "demo" sticker there was no indication they were not brand new, even the packaging was perfect. ETA: PM JesseTischauser and he'll hook you up with a 10-12% off discount to Optics Planet if you go that route |
| I stay away from Optics Planet, because of a bad experience I had with them. I bought a Sparc from them that was obviously a return that they did not inspect before they threw it back on the shelf. It had scratches on the tube, a few light scratches on the lens, both the o rings for the both turrets were ripped/cut, the mount had marks, and last off all....the screws for the mount had obvious tool marks on them. In other words...someone bought my spark, mounted it, and beat the hell out of it, before sending it back to OP, and OP shipped it as new to me. This to me was un-acceptable! When I buy a new product, I expect it to be new. I had heard nightmares about their customer service...so I just sent it in to Vortex, with the story of why I was sending it to them...they replaced it with a new Sparc in 2 days...no hassle at all. I have nothing but respect for Vortex's customer service...they are Awesome...I just wish I had as much respect for vortex's design crew, and decisions made by them. I now buy all of my optics from another great company...Primary Arms...they are top notch. |
