What companies make the best (quality) side rail mounts for AK's? I want to mount a scope not for anything other than squirrel removal, not planning on storming any fortresses in the near future.

I like the KVAR KV-04S. Costs a bit more than the others, but seems to be tops for fit and quality.

Yea, KVAR sure likes their stuff alot.
Is it properly centered on the bore? I've read that some still end up sitting to the left of center line, and others seem to sit way to high.

My two KV-04s are dead centered on the rifle. If you decide you want a KV-04, I have a brand new one I would part with for significantly less than K-Var wants. IM me if you're interested.
