| have any of you ever installed a recoil buffer? Is there a difference in the recoil? Are there any drawbacks? Is it worth the 20 bucks. Thanks, Chris |

Not much of a difference in recoil that I could detect.
Ideally, a properly set up AK will not have strong contact of the back of the bolt carrier against the back of the receiver (because of the resistance of the recoil spring). Some people think that having a buffer can actually cause / increase the change of contact of the carrier against the rear of the receiver (due to the buffers thickness) However the buffer should absorb the contact (since it is squishy) so seems like a wash. Only down side is if the buffer gets a lot of wear and fails, falling into the action and jamming the gun. I have then on a couple of AKs and can't really say I see a strong + or - either way. | I put one on both my Hungarian AK's and noticed a bit of a difference on the preban rifle with flash hider but noticed more on the post-ban due to lack of hider. I like the fact that I don't have as much metal on metal contact when the bolt comes back after firing. I ordered them online and believe they are both Blackjack Buffers. I |
