Beginner question:
How do you know how far down to screw the iron sight at the end of the barrel? How do I set it just right? |

Go to the range, set up a target at 50 yards, put the rear sight on the farthest setting to the rear and shoot it. Then adjust the front sight until it hits where you aim. Then, whenever you want to shoot 100, 200, or 300 yards, just move the rear sight bar to the corresponding 100ths. It's that easy. Some people like to get more precise (read:complicated), but this works for me.
I work on the assumption that 100yrd = 100m and whatever error that comes up due to that error will be countered by the inherent limits of the gun anyway. Shooting past 300 is not practical anyway and I can hit a 4foot wide target out at 400 yards with boring regularity with my AK set up this way. |
