| I picked up a Yugo underfolder a few months back. I would really like to keep it simple. My plan is to change out the crappy plastic handguards for wood. I would like to add a simple light if possible. Are there any mounts out there that would work for this? If I have to go with a quadrail, I will, but it's not my preference. |

I have no personal experience with this mount, but it did get a good review on another AK website: Link I would mount it further back on the rifle, under the gas tube provided there is room. |

Here's what I did, wanted exactly the same thing; a mounted light without installing a a quad-rail, etc.. I already have a Kobra red dot with the sidemount bracket. Here's how I did the light: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=124669494 I mounted it under the gas block, behind where it attaches to the barrel. I use a Streamlight, mounts up perfectly and is in easy reach of my support hand to turn on/off. This mount also allowed me to keep my current stock furniture. It was a perfect find as it has the hole for the cleaning rod. That link is the same guy I bought mine from. Plan on spending $50 w/shipping, but IMHO it's well worth the bread. Good luck, G |
