I can't seem to find one. But I want one! I wonder if one could be made from a bayonet?

I doubt they make them. I was thinking home built. I think it could be made to look pretty good. That was just two photos I stuck together. No shaping or coloring.

I just happen to have a spare bayonet and think I may try this. Where can I get an inexpensive section of rail to attach to the bayonet? I'm thinking a bit of JB weld should be sufficient to hold it on securely, anyone disagree or have a better solution? I'll post pics If I decide to  try it.

I don't think jb weld will hold it. It could be used to mate the two surfaces but I think it needs to be drilled and tapped.

My question is. Does the plastic grip on the romainian hold the bayo together or is it full tang and what about the latch mechanism? I'd like to strip the grips off if possible.

YHM has sections of in-spec Picatinny rail for sale, so that is the route I would go if I was going to attempt such a project.

I would shave or mill the bottom of the bayonet hilt to be as flat & true as possible, trim the rail piece to the length needed, and drill & tap some holes to match the holes thru the rail.

I would probably use an adhesive like Gorilla Glue, and spred it liberally between the backside of the rail piece and the bayonet hilt.

Get it all straight & plumb and then clamp it until it completely dries.

Use some quality screws and Loctite them thru the rail piece, into the bayonet hilt.

When it is all cured, clean off any remaining glue adhesive, and use some JB Weld to smooth out the areas where the two pieces are joined.

Paint it with something durable like John Deere 'Blitz Black' and it will look quite interesting.

Hell, if you did it right you might even be able to retain the bayonet blade.

When done it should be plenty strong enough to hang a tactifool light, or a vert grip from the rail with no problems.

John Deere 'Blitz Black' I forgot about that stuff!

I'd rather just use the components that attach the bayo and weld them to a flat piece of steel (if it's not full tang - anybody?) and then thread it for the rail. I want it to look clean.

A bayo on the front end of an ak wobbles like hell.  Why would you want a wobbly flashlight?

on my plastic lower handguard i drilled holes and mounted a tiny piece of PIC rail from MI and mount my TLR-1 or SF 6P LED to it.  it has stayed on for several thousand rounds so far.

Just check out CDNN, cheaper than dirt, or EBAY, there are several rails that just clamp onto ANY barrel. Some have 1 rail, some have 3, some are short, some long. I think you can get 1 for $10+ shipping. (they're made by UTG)

You must come up with something original.

I mean, seriously. Why do people come to the "OPTICS AND ACCESSORIES" board, and post that worn-out, worm eaten old pic?

Did you think it was something new? Maybe you were the first to post it?
