Does anyone have any experience with Ace Stocks? Was hoping to put a folding stock on my WASR and I've tried the Tapco, but I just can't get a good cheek weld with it. I was thinking about the M4 SOCOM or the Ultra Lite models. How well do they work, how sturdy are they, how hard are they to install?
Thanks for all the help guys! buk |

I love my (internal, had to cut off tang) Ace side folder. Vector 1mm Stamped. Grip = CCA, Optic = Side mounted Kobra Gen 3. Tapco 30-rd poly mag. m16/A1-style Bird Cage flash hider. Recoil buffer. Beretta 92fs.

Apply pressure right at the spring of the folding mechanism, you can also flip the stock around so it folds the other way. Mine is folding opposite of yours, I noticed I could not function the rifle, because the bolt would hit the stock, so I ended up folding the other way so I could shoot it while folded. I didn't have any trouble getting it in my Vector.

I am not happy that it blocks the action, that's for sure... but I don't know what else to do unless I want to sacrifice a good cheek weld. |

My Vector also has a Kobra Red Dot on it, my folder folds on to the "flat" part of the Kobra side mount. It functions flawlessly folded with the red dot on. I also had it folding to the right to begin with, and it was marring/rubbing on the very top of the stock where the rubber and metal meet.

They aren't cheap, but they are damn nice. I put one with the super-short length butt on my Arsenal SLR-101SG. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c340/davemarkowitz/Kalashnikovs/slr101sg-ace-folder.jpg http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c340/davemarkowitz/Kalashnikovs/slr101-ace-folded-L.jpg You can set them up to fold to the left or the right. I think we've established the fact that you can fold it either way, if you look up a few posts... his main concern was folding to left on to his Kobra Red Dot, which I do. nice rifle anyways... |

I'm thinking about one of these also. According to the Ace website, you can adjust the stock so it sits low enough to clear the charging handle. Has anybody tried that? You can, but then the cheek weld is off. You end up having a "chin weld" to the buttstock in order to use the sights. Not very desirable, IMO. |

I have a stamped receiver with the tang, and I'm debating whether cutting off the tang to get that extra 1.5" of shortness is worth it.
How are you guys cutting off the tang in order to use the internal receiver block? And was the internal receiver block hard to install once you got the tang cut off? |

I used a hacksaw and Dremel to do mine, then smoothed it off with a file. Installing the internal receiver block was no problem, but my rifle has a milled receiver. I dunno if it would be harder with a stamped receiver. The blocks are different. |
