Any idea how to resolve the problem of a side scope mount that is off by this much? http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b393/Epic_Ed/IMG_4865.jpg And in case it's not obvious in the picture, it's not just off center, it's slightly angled from left to right as you're looking down the barrel from the trigger position (right to left in the picture). This is my first time dealing with the side mount -- am I missing something? Are they adjustable in some way? Or is it just fecked? Useful info: it's mounted on a VEPR K; origin of mount is unknown, but it was new in a sealed package from Robinson Arms until I opened it last night. The packaging has Russian wording on it. And, in case anyone is interested, I found the scope mount. It's one of these: www.kalinkaoptics.com/detail.aspx?ID=506 Ed |

Well, I finally got it out to the range this weekend to try to site in the optic. Didn't have much luck. Now, granted, I'm pretty much a novice with sighting stuff in, but I could not get my point of impact nearly low enough. I've mounted a Trijicon TriPower TX30 to the mount pictured above. Am I using a mount that is simply too high? It's lower than any other over-the-receiver mount I've seen, but I usually see red dot scope mounted on the forerail. Is it not possible/practical to mount a red dot on an over-the-receiver mount? I mean, I'm not even close -- 10-15 ft too high at 100 yards, and it is cranked down as low as it will go. Suggestions?
