I'll point out that, unless they violate UltiMAK's patent, the gas tube won't be integrated. This means the sight axis will be higher; if this is important to you, you might consider an UltiMAK gas tube mount and forend combo.

I wanted a rigid mount for optics and additional accessory rails without having to install an ultimak and mismatching lower rail section

Yes they are.

I drink Ultimak cool-aid though. Their quad rail setup is fantastic. Not sure what you mean about mismatched.

I could post pics, if it weren't for the recent computer crash I had.

Ultimak makes a lower tri-railed hand guard.

And I think this one is/was H20MAN's:

dixiedawg..Did you have to remove the first sight in order to install the QUAD Rail?

No need to remove anything but the foregrips.

That VFG is just a Cav Arms el cheapo.

The rail is an extremely solid system. It is definitely stable enough for optics.

Full blown retail is $250. I scored mine for the Corleone price (offer I couldn't refuse) of $100.

No guarantee that you'll be able to score one for $100, but I got mine from a member on M14 Forum by the name "Duke Nukem." You'll have to be a registered user to view the content on their forum. He had them for sale for a while, but I suspect I may have got the last one he had. Wouldn't hurt to ask.

Other than that, a Google search for "samson k rail" will turn up some vendors, but they'll likely be retail priced.

Be advised that if your rifle has the sling loop located on the lower handguard retainer, it will need to be removed in order to install the Samson k rail. It's no biggie to me, b/c I've dedicated my rifle to this setup, and hacked away freely. Just something to be aware of if you are considering this rail.

Any problem with heat using the Ultimak gas tube replacement mount? I noticed they have a model with vent holes, are these only for the Chinese AK's?

The UltiMAK lower rail, of course, lets you keep your sling loop as is.

It's cosmetic. Choose which one you like the looks of.

Yes, of course, but before this thread got derailed &  became an Ultimak party, the original question was about the Samson K Rail. In my case, I got the full Samson system for the price that folks are paying for the Ultimak gas tube alone. I think that's worth it! Hopefully someone else here was able to take advantage of the deal.

There are no more at the $100 price tag.  I checked.

I have one that I am going to stick on a Saiga-308.  I am waiting on Samson to re-work my barrel clamp as the .308 is much thicker than the 7.62x39mm barrels.  I will post my review when I get it.
