I've decided to use the Vepr scope mount and it came with 4 inserts. Is it necessary to install them with the scope or are they there to protect the scope?

Guessing from the typing, not seeing, they are probably for rings to hold either a 30mm tube or 1" tube.

Never thought of that. The last scope mount I dealt with like that was a Saiga and it had 1 inch rings only. Thanks.
