I've been to the range for the last two days and finally got on the paper with the Kobra.

Should have used clean cardboard the first time.

I thought I might hit paper at 25 yards without running out of clicks the first time out.

Is this common to be so far off out of the box?

Anyway, got on the paper about 4" above and to the right of the Shoot-n-c.

Decided to loosen spanner screw and reset wheel to zero as I had run-out of adjustment...

forgot which way and what I had done and am now off paper again with who kinows what, setting.

Anyway to start over?

Thanks for your help.  I'm feeling a little stupid working this thing out.

Save ammo - buy a Laserlyte bore sighter from Walmart for $30.00. Its the best money you'll ever spend!!!

If you are too cheap for a boresight, just do this at home. Secure the rifle in place with the Kobra removed, pointing at an object some distance away. Be sure you can take the sight on and off. Now mark with a pen or pencil where the ironsights are pointing to. Mount the Kobra, and adjust to this point. That should get you on paper for the horizontal adjustment.

Also work on loosening the spanner so you lift & move the wheel without changing clicks. Reminder- don't yank it off or the spring tension ball flys away, so work up to it.
Outdoors, the dirt back stop and a spotter are great for getting on paper.

RSP...Not sure why you might consider me, cheap.  But thank you for you information.

RS39...I did loose the spaner and moved the wheel with no clicks and had no problem.  But after I resent it to "0", I was no longer on paper and forgot how I had gotten onto the paper to start with.  The question is:  if I resent to "0" will the internals still be set past the original stop?  I'd like to get back to square-one and do the bore-sight solution.

Thanks.

Practice on bore sighting, and when you need 'more laps' send it Past 0 when you reset the screws so you may not need to lift the wheel more often. Stick the Kobra in a big, clear plastic bag if you worry about the dial coming off and the spring balls going....

The bore sighter laser (some types)goes into the barrel and projects a laser dot to the target. You then can line up your kobra dot to the bore sight laser dot.Its a decent way to do it and save some ammo.

I picked up a Laserlyte bore scope on the way home. It was $40 at Walmart.

Now I understand.

I hope this is my last obstacle in setting-up my Ak to my liking.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
