We'll I busted two of those windage/elevation tools from tapco. I've tried needlenose pliers but can't seem to get a good grip on the post. Anyone got suggestions?

Did you shoot it with penetrating oil and let it set overnight?  I've never had problems after doing that and then using a strong set of needlenose pliers and turning in the direction needed to back the front pin screw out.

+1 on giving it a shot of Kroil or CLP Breakfree and letting soak over night.
You can also warm it with a torch before applying the lube.  NOTE, I said WARM, NOT red hot. Just warm it up.

Many of these rifles have had too much paint sprayed on and the sight and sight drum are paint "frozen".

In a unusual case, you can make a stronger sight tool by cutting a 3/8" bolt off, drilling a hole in it to pass the actual front sight pin, then cutting and filling a notch that will just slip over the sight's shank.
Turn it with a wrench on the bolt head.

Soaking in clp. I agree, i think the finish has frozen it. I broke the first site tool at the range (was shooting way too high) then I broke the one I just got at the gunshow today. Hope I can get it to work tomorrow morning. Had this tantel two weeks and have yet to get more than 5 rounds down the tube.

CLP is not what you need so much as something that will disolve any rusting.  You need a good penetrating lubricant and rust remover.  Kroil or even liquid wrench in the spray can from Checker, etc.  A spray of a cheap brake cleaner first to clean the crap out and then a penetrating oil and soak over night.  Making a tool that works with a ratchet is a good idea, that should break it loose.
