Do any of you have any experience with the AK stripper clip adaptors? I was thinking about getting one of those Chinese adaptors to make loading magazines easier. I looked this weekend, but both SG and Cheaperthandirt are out. Anyone know where to find them?

Thanks,

Davis

God, I bought mine decades ago, I want to say from Tapco or somewhere equally cheesy.  People bitch about them but I never had any trouble with them.  But, like the Russians say about the built in stripper slots on '74 mags, they're only of benefit IF your ammo comes on strippers!  Otherwise you're wasting the time to load them onto strippers just so you can rapidly dump them into mags.

The cheap metal ones are pretty much worthless IMHO.

I bought one of these and it works reasonably well.  The secret is to slap the plunger, not a steady push

It's pretty clever, it has a magnet that removes the stripper clip after the rounds have  been loaded into the mag

CDNN has the steel Chinese ones with the star. I bought one for the hell of it to go with my Poly. I'll likely never use it but it completes the set.

I still have a bunch of ammo on strippers, came issued that way, so I still use mine.  It takes some practice but they work fine.

Thanks for the info. I checked and found CDNN no longer has them listed on their web page. I want to get the small Chinese type. My pack holds 6 mags. My plan is to keep extra ammo in my pack on stripper clips. With the adaptor I could load the mags quickly in the field. If anyone finds anywhere else I can buy them please let me know.

Thanks again,

Davis

Otherwise, I use a LULA loader, same one for all 3 calibers.

Those cheapy metal adapters with a star on them are a pain to use. You need to get the hang of how they work, and even then they dont work that well. I do see that LULA is developing a stripper clip loader for the AR, which looks promising. I dont know if they are developing one for the AK.
