Stopped by the local gun shop today and they had Romak 991s for $219.00. Couldn't resist. My question is, can I use any AK style single stack magazine?
I asked the shop owner if he carried spare magazines and he said no because they're too expensive. (I went online and found AK single stack magazines as low as $7.95 for a 10 rounder.)
Also, I've been told that I can dremel out the sides of the receiver and the gun will take hi-cap mags. Is it legal to do this if I'm allowed to have hi-cap mags in my state?

As long as you have one mag for now, stick with that. I 'think' all fit for the same 47 caliber but...

Best deal is to hicap mod it, which includes a trip to the 922r parts count law. Assuming bare muzzle, you need 5; fcg is an easy 3, then make a stock choice.

SARs had dimples to hold the mags left/right, WASRs have metal plates in them. What is in yours?

I have metal plates but I would have to widen the slot by about 1/4" to get the high-cap magazines to fit into the hole.
