Why does it seem every where I look on the internet Tapco AK 47 magazines are being clearanced?
I picked up 10 of the magazines for about 60.00. I tested a few out the other day and they seem to work great in both of my AK's. I know they are polymer but it seems they are built like a tank except for the magazine catch nub is not metal. Even if they break sooner than the steel magazines they are cheap enough to replace.

Can't answer that but I'm glad they're always on sale. I got my 10 smoothside mags from Primary Arms $7.99 each when they run sales, excellent mags even without steel reinforcement. I've seen and used countless Gen 1 waffle pattern Tapcos that are still functional after years of use and abuse so I consider them good to go.

They are my primary range mags so I can save all my Chinese flatbacks, Bulgarian commerical steel & (10) and Izhmash Bakelites for real use.

Really don't see a point when combloc steel is at 9 bucks a mag,  couple dollars more for a mag that won't break and will likely outlive you.

The weight saving is one good reason. The three orange "Fakelite" Tapcos I bought recently were $4.99 apiece. I have plenty of steel mags, both 30 and 20rd.
The tapcos were a tight fit, and I had to give them light touch of sanding to fit my rifle...not much, did all three in 15min. I also bought two magpul 20rd mags. Those both fit fine.
I like the light weight of these mags.
