I have two different kinds of steel mags.  One has a rib or spine running down the back and the other one doesn't.  I'm guessing it just has to do with the manufacturer and how much work they wanted to put into it?  Or is there a structural benefit to one over the other?  What's the story?

The flat back could be Chinese or other. One with the rib is European most likely got any pictures?

I really don't care about country of origin. I am just wondering if there was any advantage of one over the other.

Flat backs are Chinese or Chugo.
One is not better than the other, it's just preference.

Chineese (flat back) tend to have a tighter fit than Euro mags. I've had trouble fitting them in a few comblock rifles.

Anyone know a reputable site to purchase some excellent to good condition east European mags?

AIM (a site sponsor) has always been a great source for Com-Bloc magazines but there are plenty of places to find good AK mags.

+1

I believe the last batch I bought was through them.
