I bought 6 30 rd AK-47 mags from 44Mag.com and they came sealed in plastic and are covered in an oily film.  What would be the best way to clean them before loading?  I was thinking rubbing alcohol or Lysol wipes.

Thats exactly what I did with the new in the packaging ones that I got from AIM.

A few of those individually packaged alcohol swabs did the trick.

what I did was disassemble them and soak the bodies and floor plates in water and wipe the springs down

wipe off the film and clean the inside of the bodies and the floor plates and you should be good to go

I disassemble, soak in degreaser, rinse, soak in water, rinse, then wipe all parts down with CLP. Takes 10 minutes, just enough time to have a beer.

I just get an old rag, disassemble and wipe them down.  Take it to the range and shoot. Never had a problem.

I love how easy the AK mags are to work on.
