Has anyone heard of this company and where they are based out of? It looks like they have some good deals but shipping cost is expensive and they only ship by air. I also noticed they use metric standards for shipping rates. I would say they are out of Eastern Europe or former USSR which is my
guess. They have a ten pack of Russian bakelite 5.45x39 mags for $224.00 or ten pack of Russian plum mags for $ 185.00 or $239.99. Guess it
depends on quality.

It looks like the more expensive plums are Tula manufactured with the star and the cheaper ones are Izhmash.  It doesn't expressly say that, so it might not be the case.  They have some good deals but I haven't been willing to risk losing stuff in customs yet.

Day 1

Place an order for some mags from Soviet Military.com.

Day 2

Confirmation of money received through Paypal. We'll see what happens and if I get my magazines or not. Plus I'll see how long it takes and
what condition package arrives in.

It usually takes about three weeks to arrive. I have never had any problem
with customs but then again I never order from them more than I am willing to loose.
Vladimir is a really great guy... Broken english and all.
He reminds me of Peggy in the commercials...

Did you get any money back from Paypal or Western Bid?

Day 6

Sent email today. Vladimir says the package was shipped out.

I got my Paypal notice of payment on 4/10/11, still don't have my order.  I sent an email asking about it.  Looks like I only have a few days to file a claim with Paypal.

Day 12 for me

No idea about my order yet either! Did you order mags from them? I know I saw somewhere that if your shipment hasn't arrived in 43 or 45 days
that you should file a claim with Western Bid or Paypal. If you ordered mags, I wonder if customs snagged them?

Yes, I ordered two magazines, wood handguard set, sling and mag pouch.

4-6 weeks is standard. I wouldn't worry until you pass 2 months. I have ordered about 6 times from Vlad. He always ships.

ETA:

And his stuff is usually NOS or very lightly used.

Vlad reshipped my sling and I got the pkg at 20days but he sent me the internals for a bakelite mag instead of the sling.
he was easy to contact and always replied and I think he was trying to make things right but things got screwed up,it happens.
most likely he just forgot to put the sling in pkg#2 the first time and just reshipped pkg#2 again.
im probably done ordering from overseas for awhile at least in $ amounts I dont want to loose and after shipping I really wasnt saving a whole hell of a lot anyways

does anyone have a couple of 7.62 30rd bakelite mag bodies they want to part with

Day 24 or 18 business days

Still no packages from Vlad. Sent him an email asking for tracking info on the packages, says he doesn't have any tracking numbers.
Post Office says they can't look for a package with out tracking numbers and find it strange that Soviet-Military.com does not provide that info.

Vlad sent me an email on the 21st saying that he will resend the package.

I just noticed he no longer lists magazines for sale.
It has been about 50 days for me, I'm going to ask for a refund.  If I get the package I will resend payment to him.

Vlad doesn't have the reputation for scamming people. I don't know the man personally but his name comes up a lot and his feedback is pretty good, but it's not uncommon for these things to take time. We're not talking Walmart here where everything is in stock, we're talking about Russian militaria which is not generally supposed to be for sale. It's called the grey market and people have been busted in Russia for dealing with this stuff, it's not off the shelf stuff that is easy to find. You've also got to worry about customs in Russia that is supposed to be on the lookout things like this. Some of the other big dealers seem to have things disappear also, my understanding is that this is part of doing business and they tend to ship the same thing again to get it through. Hit or miss sometimes I guess.

It's also not uncommon to take your money and then go try and find stuff, these guys are generally not sitting on warehouses of equipment waiting for you to click on their website. They have to get out and find the stuff and sometimes things are hard to find.
You may not like that but again this isn't walmart, there isn't a vast depot they stroll over to and pick your stuff out of. I've waited 6 months and more for certain things. Unfortunately it's the nature of the business.

I received my refund in less than 24 hrs.   He seems like a honest guy to me.   If my stuff does show up I will resend payment.

Vlad has removed mags from his website.

I've emailed back and forth with him, and through his broken English I've determined that Ukrainian customs are stopping outbound shipments of mags, so while he has plenty of mags in stock, he's not selling them for now.  When I asked if he'd ever sell them again (I'd tried to place an order several times, PayPal was down, and then when it was back up the mags were gone), he said

"i think soon we decide this problem."

Which I hope means that he'll have a resolution soon and he'll start selling them again.  But it could also mean he'll decide what do so soon.  It depends on what he means by "decide."

A friend of mine ordered some mags from another seller in the Ukraine, he tracked his mags to getting taken by Ukraine customs also.

He won't scam you. Its customs on his side. They cracked down over the last 4-6 weeks and stopped all mags going out. They are working to resolve the issue but till then that might explain why pkg's are not making it across the water.

He's busy, but by no means a scam artist...

Calling ppal, will just start a shit storm where there doesn't need to be one.

I've been waiting for some magazines since 26 April.
I got the impresion this is the second or third attempt to deliver my order.
He has promised a refund, but I would prefer the shipment.

The guy is legit. He answered every Email in a timely fashion. My first order was seized or lost. After three weeks,  I contacted Vlad and he said he would ship out another order. He said if I didn't receive it within 12 days he would refund my money. My order came five days later. I just hope he sells his Russian mags again- there seems to be a legal hassle surrounding them.

Basically, the Eastern European governments are cracking down on people stealing stuff from their warehouses (which is what these sellers do. Bribe the poorly paid guards to look the other way while they go shopping). So to stop it, they are seizing it at customs. (It’s pretty easy for their government to spot stolen military items since they never sell surplus even if it’s no longer used like AKM parts)

I’m not against it, because 99.9% of the stuff being sold is no longer in service and would have been left to rust anyway.

Sounds like Vlad needs to grease the hands of Ukrainian Customs personnel.
