Sorry for this question but I'm still new to AK's. I'm looking for a couple of 20 round magazines and have seen the new Tapco 20's advertised at Centerfire Systems. Are these considered to be dependable magazines? Are they worth trusting one's life to?  Thanks!

AIM has some really nice Hungarian steel 20rd Mags. I would go for them.

the tapco mags are fine for range mags but no so "to trust one's life too." i'd say go for the hung steel mags as the above poster suggested.

Think of magazine construction the opposite way that you do with an AR (Plastic (PMag, Lancer, etc) = good, random metal could be bad)

A lot of the plastic AK mags you'll run into don't have metal reinforcements for the locking tab or feed lips, and those get abused way more than they do in an AR.
