7.62x39  mags,  Good or Bad, Let me know

Never tried one... never will.

Since I have no experience with the Promag AK products you can take what I say with a grain of salt, but I've never heard anything good about Promags products for anything, but plenty of bad about them for lots of weapons they produce mags for.  YMMV.  Not saying that none of them work, but they are too spotty for me to waste my time and/or money on.

I mean, really, what's the point?  There are tons of some of the best mags every designed and built - the milspec, milsurp steel AK mag.  They are reliable, last forever, and are almost indestructable, nothing to be improved upon.  They are available from $10-$15 almost everywhere.  I just ordered 10 new ones from AIM for $8.95 each.  Why buy anything else?

The only one I ever had, came with my AMD-65 and it came apart after being fully loaded, the base came flying off along with all 30rds and the spring.

I have some of the clear ones- stay away from them- please!

ETA- get Chi-Com steel mags and don't look back.  After your satisfied with that quantity we can chat about collecting the rest.  Keep your mainstays Bulgarian, Romanian, Hungarian, Chinese, Russian, Polish, Egyptian- all steel.

I own two. They always work, which is ironic since I purchased them to do malfunction drills.
The question you should ask yourself is: Why would I pay more for a ProMag than I would pay for a mil-surp magazine?

That's some funny shit right there!

Yeah, I have one AK Promag, and it actually works just fine.  But it's the ONLY Promag I've ever purchased that worked fine.  Promag's pistol mags are a complete and total disaster.  I have no idea how Promag even stays in business.

But as everyone else said, why even bother with a Promag when you can get the real-deal for less money?  IMHO, Promags should be a last ditch option in case of a mag import ban or something.  But with good quality mil-spec mags available for $8.95 right now, you should be stocking up so as to never need to worry about an import ban!

I always forget, but the Bulgarian waffles in both 30 and 40 RD are good to go if you want polymer.

The ONLY use for Promag is in a Mini-14. Then not all rifles will run them.  I have 20 and they have been 100%.  Pistol mag- used for malfunction drills, usually on the first round. WJ

ProMag should stick to making $11 VFGs and Glock butt plugs. I don't trust any of their other products.
