Imported steel military surplus mags rock. I own them, use them and have ordered more. Having said that I also think a quality made polymer mag might be a good thing.

So my question is has anybody on here actually used a Tapco mag in there AK?
If so what was your expierence? good or bad

I picked up 5 a while back and like them.  They are not going to be as durable as steel Combloc or Bulgarian waffles, but they are fine for what I use them for: good range mags and a source of US compliance parts for a rifle in need.  I don't regret buying them.

Having said that, I like my Bulgarian waffles better.  If it's one or the other, I'd go with the Bulgarian waffles.

I just got my Tapco's from AIM and they fit great in my Yugo but are extremely tight in my MAK-90.  The Mag Release doesn't seem to spring out fully with the mag inserted.  It's almost like it just barely won't seat fully.

I've only shot them in my Yugo and they are flawless.

Kinda irratates me about the fit in the MAK-90...

FYI, it took about 3 1/2 weeks for these to get to me from AIM....not bad considering the political climate right now.

Have three and they work with no problems.

I've got fifteen of these mags and have been using three of them almost exclusively in my SBR'ed SLR-107.  I've done AK push-ups on them, used a full mag to knock out the empty and have thrown all three on the ground a bunch of times.  All three mags are a little beat up but they continue to run fine and have no cracks, splits, etc.

I've also used these magazines in a Maadi, a WASR, a VEPR, and an STG-2000 without problems.

I did drop a fully loaded magazine on the concrete awhile ago and that one broke.  Tapco replaced the body so I abused the broken mag to near destruction.  I drove over it a couple times with my car and cracked the tube and broke off a good portion of the rear locking tab.  Even after all this, the magazine still works.

I like 'em and think they're a solid product for $12.00.  Some vendors are selling them for close to $20.00 and for that price I'd go with imported steel.
