i see a few different types of magazines out there. are there certain magazines that only work for certain types of ak's? as an example, the BHO mags for yugos. are these specific to a yugo or can they be used in other ak's?
one other thing im wondering but cant find the answer. i see that some ak's accept single stack mags and some accept double stack. are there certain manufacturers that only make single stack ak's? how can i tell if the gun accepts single or double stack mags? |

Generally, most 7.62x39mm magazines will fit tighter/looser than others on different receivers' magazine wells for Kalashnikovs chambered in 7.62x39mm - even on the same model of weapon, sometimes there's just a smidge difference in measurements on both the receiver and the same types of magazines.
A Yugo BHO magazine will work fine in almost every Kalashnikov rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm. There are Romanian WASR rifles that were created as "single stack" magazine accepting rifles. If you look inside the receiver of a "single stack" WASR rifle, you'll see how the magazine well differs from the "double-stack." Here's a site that's good for folks that are learning about the Kalashnikov rifle - it's a great "primer" that deals with the entry-level Romanian rifles out there.
