I just picked up a romey drum this weekend at a local gun shop.  I paid $110 for it.  A little rust, but nothing I cant fix on a rainy Sunday.

I took it to the range today filled with 75 rounds of wolf mc hp.  It would FTF (slam the bullet into the area below the chamber opening) about every 5 or 6 rounds, sometimes more often than that.  I had no FMJ's on hand to try out.  Im shooting this in a TGI AMD 65.  I have no problems with the same hp ammo in steel combloc 30 and 40 round mags.  I did, however, have problems with hollow points in the pro mag 20 rounder that came with it.  Although this only occurred during the first 100 rounds or so. The pro mag runs fine now.  So what gives with the drum?  Do I just need to blast some more rounds through it?

If you are loading them correctly into the drum, than maybe you need to torque the drum down more?

Is it possible this problem is related to low spring tension?

I would say low spring tension, you should try winding the spring 4 1/2 turns and your problems should seize.
