Anybody ever try the 5.56 magpulls on 74 mags?

Not sure if Mag Pulls make much sense on AK mags, as they rock out forward, rather than straight down like an AR mag or a MBR mag.

The 5.56 magpuls will work on a 74 mags.

Thanks Opey,thats why I asked.Mags sit kind of flush with the top of the vest I have.

That's true. I guess the specifc mag pouch you are using could make a difference.

If you have an SAR-3, the magpuls work really well on weigers. They are actually a little shorter than a standard 74 mag, so the overall length is just right for an AK-74 pouch.

Hmmm. Although I don't have a 5.45 (yet) it's been my impression that the magazines are essentially the same dimensions as a 7.62 magazines (different curvature notwithstanding). If that is true then it would seem that a 5.56 Magpul would also fit a 7.62 mag?

Could anybody confirm or disprove this theory?

they work well on AK74 and also on '47 mags too

here are some on my mags in one of my 'Stomper pouches

they are especially useful in magazine pouch extraction and speed reload drills
