Question, what is the best way to store ammo?
I have ammo stored all over the hose and I am concerned about it in case of a fire.
I have a shed outside but it is not climate controled.  Any idea or suggestion are appreciated.

Best to leave it in the house. Mine is in the house and I just leave it in the case and stack them in the closet. In case of fire they wont explode they'll just pop and burn.

Buy a cheap used non fire rated gun safe. Go to Home Depot, buy some 5/8 inch fireproof sheet rock.

Double line the safe with the sheet rock on all sides, top, bottom, and on the door.

Install ammo.

This keeps your ammo secure, and fire proof. Good luck.

If in cardboard cases I leave it.   If loose, I pack it in cans.    Always store inside.   Never in temp extremes or high humidity.

I keep mine in ammo cans with dessicant packets.  Beyond that, I run a dehumidifier in the room year round.  No worries.

+1. A low, constant temp is a good thing for ammo.

I really dont think temperature is much of a factor in the longevity of ammo. Do you really think the surplus that we get from shithole countries like Pakistan, and Romainia have climate controlled ammo depots? C&R shooters routinely shoot ammo from WW1, and who knows where or how it was stored. I bet it wasnt in an air conditioned wharehouse with .00005% humidity though.

To the OP if you keep your ammo in cans with a couple dessicant pack there is no reason you cant store it in a shed or garage. It will probably out live you.
