Has anyone shot any of the 7.62x39 brown/silver Bear Soft Point ammo? I was wondering if it expanded any or not like a normall soft point bullet.I  bought some wolf classic Hp it is blowing the jacket and alittle frag going on with it. I was thinging of buying 500rds of the soft point type ammo to test out next. Thanks for any info!

None of the russ sp expands very well for hunting purposes, rem corelokts or win spire points are better in that area. The Wolf miltary classic made at the Uly.. plant with the 8m3 bullet is the best expand/frag from over there.

I went ahead and ordered some of the S&B brass cased boxer primed 123gr Sp ammo to test it out. It's not Wolf/Silver Bear cheap ,but it's not Rem or Win SP high priced  also. I am in a one day UPS shipping zone and it is shipping today so will have it to try out this weekend. If it does Ok in my rifle and expands some I will order more of it for a hunting load for varmints and wildhogs. I will use my Wolf HP for plinking. I was pretty happy with the Blackbox wolf HP accuracy out of my CZ 527 carbine it was shooting under a 1" at 60 yards which is how far I have my shooting bench setup right now. When I was done sighting in I set two small rocks behind my pond dam out at 150 yards leaned on a solid rest and blew them to bits. Thats good enough for me. I found the wolf Hp to be blowing up to bits upon impact with the ground. I picked up tiny peices of jacket and lead from every bullet I tried to recover. I was alittle concerned about not getting enough wound depth on a large hog with it.
