Spent a pair of hours at the range Labor Day morning. 5rds of the 20 LC85 that I had in the safe, 5rds of Radway that I'd just got from AIM and 10rds of BH 77gr Match remanufactured. Targets were 5.5" Orange Peels set at 100yds. Conditions were calm, 65F and a tiny bit humid. Not a bad shooting day. Rifle: Dalphon lower, Springfield worked trigger, JPE laminated stock, DPMS 20" Fluted SS Bull upper, NcStar 10-40x(yes, POS scope First, the 10 of Black Hills. Centered group 1.06", outside of 1.23" Not all that great at $28.99 a box. Second was 5rds of Radway Green. Group measured .75" centered. Not bad, not bad at all and even better considering the quantity I have on hand. Third, and most impressive was the LC85. I've only had 20rds of this stuff, but am wanting more: Centered group measured .42". Yes, less than half an inch. Outside was .635" Too bad I've only got 15rds of this stuff left. Yep, I got a new respect for MILSURP now.... (all measurements using a dial caliper, and subject to interpretation. Of course.) |
