I have 5 rounds of 762x39 and then i'm out.  That's pitiful.  I hate having a gun and no ammo for it but i really can't stomach $150/1000.  This sucks.

20 rounds here. It hurts not having any more than this. I'll be ordering a tin or two from Cabela's as soon as I get the cash.

I have one 30 rd clip loaded for 2 AKs. the other 24 mags are getting pretty lonely. Sucks being a broke ass college student.

Holy cow.  I'll never let my supply get that low, unless there isn't anymore.  If I can afford it I'll get it.  Especially for .223 and 7.62x39.

Perahps you should go back to slingshots, rocks and pebbles are free.

With my budget, the price of ammo being this high means i'm not practicing with my rifles.  I have to allocate the available money to 9mm so i can train with the gun i'm most likely to use.

It has nothing to do with me being cheap, it has everything to do with me being poor.  When gas was $3.50 i didn't drive as much, with rifle ammo so expensive, i won't shoot as much.

Hoarders like speeddeamon are probably the reason ammo costs so much

As a college student, the idea of wasting $200 or more on a thousand so that I can assault pieces of paper at a range is quite unappealing.

I know exactly what you mean, if my AR couldn't shoot wolf, i'd never shoot it.

Between college, the rent/utilities and various automotive costs, current prices for ammo means it  just isn't in the cards, needless to say stocking 10K of ammo on a whim...

Called up both Cabela's and Sportsman's Guide earlier today. I was told that it appears all 7.62x39 is out. Out of the 15 or so shops locally, all are either out of stock, or want $250+ per case.

Our local shop has 1000 rounds Golden Tiger FMJ 7.62x39 for $150, but I'm doing that poor college student thing, too.

Dunhams sporting goods store in Northern Michigan Had Wolf on sale last weekend for $2.50 a box.  [ $125.00 a K] I pretty much cleaned them out, left the hollow points for the late comers.  Not many AK fans in my area,  5.45 is non-existent in any store in my area.
