Unmarked white box, brass case, copper with soft tip. The only markings are on the rim: 3B at 12:00 and 36 at 6:00.
I didn't know where else to post this. Thanks. |

After some deeper internet searching I determined it is Russian.
3B/36 1908 Type L, 3B mark (Cyrillic ZV for Zavod (Factory) Volodarskogo) from 1928 to 1941 There were a few of these in the box as well: 17/37 1908 Type L, Designated Plant No. 17 in 1928, moved to Barnaul in 1941, Re-established at Podolsk in 1942/44 as Plant No. 710. So, if I understand this correctly, they were made in 1936 and 1937, both those marking ended in 1941. They are both in great shape, but the 3B/36 rounds look like they were made currently. I wonder if they were retooled/reloaded, but just have the same head stamps. That might explain the two different cartridges in one box. |

I remember there was some loose x54R on the market a few years ago that turned out to be WWII ammo re-manufactured by the Hungarians in the '70s. ETA: The soft-tip is a good indication that it is likely re-built ammo. |
