Has any one tried hornady V-Max bullets in any of the 7.62x39 AKs? If so how did you like them and were they used for hunting? Got some brass that needs reloading and those have been the best deal I can find in the 123gr area.

I load 150 gr. Nosler Ballistic tips in 7.62X39 and they rock but I'm shooting them in an AR-15 chambered in the 7.62x39 round.

Are they the .310 dia? I have heard of people using .308-.311 dia but I am skeptical if they would loose accuracy or cause damage.

I shoot the Hornady 123 gr. .310 V-MAX out of both my SKS rifles.  The V stands for varmint, not sure they would make a good hunting rd. for anything larger  than small white tail at a reasonable range and well placed shots, there pretty explosive.  Probably would make and excellent SD rd better than the steel case HP or SP.  I like them  have about 500 on hand I got on the cheap couple years ago.

50 yd. Target Chinese SKS iron sights, squares are 1/2"

Any issues/damage to the bore with running a smaller dia bullet? If there are no issues it would be alot easier to find the .308 bullets and at a better price. Reloading for the AK is new to me. What are you using for a powder?

I shot a running 50 pound doe at 50 yards in the neck with a hornady V-Max 7.62.
Dropped it cold!
