| Does anyone know what could be used to make AK ammo destructive to the weapon? I was shooting in Iraq today with some SF guys and had a round misfire, splitting the case with the shoulder and bullet welding in the chamber. the half i extracted looked as though it had solder in it. the half left in the chamber looked like welding slag. any thoughts? |

Thanks for the link. I'd heard bits and pieces of this but never read the whole story before. Good site. |

Brilliant! Glad none of our guys got hurt in the story that started this post Amazing how this stuff floats around if it is indeed the case. |
| Otherwise, the std milsurp bullet tends to come with a cheap steel core covered in a thin layer of lead to bind the copper to the top layer. So there's nothing terribly weird about the metal you saw, just the blammo. Which may have been a bad steel case combined with a bad powder charge. |

I really don't mean to be an asshole but please do us a favor and delete your post. This should not be discussed in an open forum I can see Berzerkers point. I was about to post my own response to what I thought it might be, but thought better of it. I may still send it in a PM. But, do we really want to give ideas to someone who may not be as clever as some of us on this board, who may also wish to cause harm to our servicemen in Iraq or A-stan? This forum is available to anyone with internet access afterall. -Allen |

I highly doubt any of the Eldest Son ammo is still in circulation. Agreed, it is probably long gone. I only posted the link for history sake, hoping people remember what has been done in the past so they might stay safer serving abroad. The moral being, know where your weapon and your ammunition came from. |
