Ordered two cans of Hot Shot 7.62x39 from Wiedners. Received these nice cans, but what is the best way to open these? Also, does anyone have experience with this stuff and is it non-corrosive. TIA!

I believe it is not corrosive. To get the can open you have a few choices: grinder, hammer and chisel, or the can opener that is made for those cans.

My can of Hotshot from AIM came with the opener, my can from Widener's did not.

The can openers work well, but a blunt chisel or a screw driver and a hammer will work too.

Dremel with a diamond cutoff wheel. Leaves a nice edge on bottom part of can. The bottoms make a good parts cleaning tubs!

I take a 4" Dewalt grinder to the raised edges.

I thought Wiedners was including a can opener with two cans? Call them up and see if they won't send you one.

Get an opener just because, use a grinder when you can.

Good ammo. I bought two tins recently too, with no opener. Hot shot is romanian no corrosive. Happy shooting

Here's my thought. Put that ammo away and foget about it. Then buy 1k of boxed ammo to shoot. 700 rds of tinned ammo is worth more than 700 rounds of boxed. Plus, those cans are a biatch to get into. It's non corrosive.
