Hello,

What exactly is camoline?  I keep seeing people talking about removing the sludge, but I have never seen it.  I bought a Yugo M70A2B at a local Dunham's and while not "clean", there didn't seem to be any crud or oil or anything all over it as people are talking about.  The wood does have a bit of a ... oily smell to it, but it is not sticky or greesy to the touch.

cosmoline is a  thick grease put on guns and anything else that was to be stored for long periods of times. i dont think that the rifles like you bought are usually covered with it as they are new builds from old parts, the two yugos i bought were free of the grease.if you buy a old surplus rifle like the sks i just bought it will be covered with it inside and out. next time you go to a gun show take a peak in the big wood crates sitting on tables you can sree for your self. happy shooting and be safe
