Here's a site with good info on how to sight in an AK:
Note the link on the lower left "How to Sight in": http://www.gunsnet.net/linx310/ Here's another with the same general info: http://www.ak-47.net/ Basically, put a target at 25 METERS, (about 27 yards). Set the rear sight on the "1" setting. That's 100 meters. You want the top of the front sight even with the top of the notch in the rear, and centered in the notch. Adjust so that the bullets are hitting right on the point of aim. For a target, use some black tape, or a big magic marker to put a large "X" on a sheet of paper. Aim at the spot where the "X" crosses and adjust until the bullets hit there. To make the job easier, buy a good sight adjustment tool that does windage as well as elevation. This works better than beating on the sight drum. The rifle will then be sighted in for any range you adjust the rear sight for. You can also sight in so you hit point of aim at 100 yards, BUT....the rear sight settings will not work since the adjustments are for meters. There's also info on the first site above on how to spot and fix sight cant., |
