I have a Romainian G kit that I will soon have built up. It came with the Tapco G2 FCG that people indicate that you should be leary of. Has anybody purchased or have an idea of what FCG I should get so that I shouldn't have any double fires? I looked on the Nodak Spud site and looked at their NDS-29 FCG and the troubleshhoting page. Is an extra $44 for a new FCG worth it?

thanks

I know there was an issue with the G2's and Nodak receivers, but I thought there was a fix.  If Nodak is selling a FCG group that they say works better with thier receiver, then why not get it.  You can sell the G2 here on EE for around $30.

I have a buddy who built 3 AK's on the NDS-3 Receiver with the Tapco G2 Single Hook FCG and he has no problems what so ever.

I went ahead and bought the Arsenal FCG that NoDakSpud sells on their website when I purchased my receiver and it performs flawlessly also. Its a really smooth FCG.

the fix is easy, just take a little off the front underside of the hook, to let the hook tilt forward just a LITTLE bit more.

I recommend that you determine if your assembled rifle has a malfuction before you spend more money on parts that may not be necessary.

The G2 issue with NDS is single hook triggers in their economy receiver only.
Use a double hook G2 and cut another slit and you will have no problems.

I will give it a try with the G2 fcg and if no trigger slap I will be happy.

Sorry couple questions.

What receiver you using?
If using one of NDS' more expensive receivers (non NDS-3) single hook will be fine.

Which G2 do you have single or double?
If NDS-3 receiver and single hook, save the single hook for another build or ak, and get a double hook.

NDS3 Receiver and Single Hook GR FCG.  That is why I had the question before I got around to having it built.
