I hijacked another thread in regards to this, but I wanted some more info. What is the difference between 80% and 100% Receivers? Do I have to put markings on both of these receivers or just the 80%?

Thanks

The 100% receiver is already marked.  NO you do not have to mark your home built 80% receiver but I intend to when I complete mine.

My reasons are a couple, one is if it's ever stolen I have a CHANCE of getting it back, another if at a later date I decide to dispose of it and lastly if I die with it for my heirs.  Heck my son might want to keep it just because it has my name engraved on it.

There is no federal law requiring  your to mark your 80% receiver but you do have to check your state and local laws, heck your state may not even allow you to build it in the first place.
