modify it so it fits like the second example



or go to the hardware store and buy two e-clips to hold the pins in, or buy one of these.

If you go w/ e-clips, get spares. I used them and removed them for cleaning or whatever one too many times and they fell out sometime before the big rabbit "hunt". Ended up using a Leatherman to make pin retainers out of a staple.
