I called copes dist. and they said the kits with the g2 trigger are exactly like the orignal triggers only made in the u.s.

I thought the g2 trigger was a better trigger as well as being easier to install?

Any thoughts?

The G2 they offer is just like every other G2. They probably meant it was like the originals in appearance once installed... Even tho it is a little diffrent. The G2 is basicly THE semi-auto AK build trigger out there. You can spend more and get a nice adjustable one, but the G2 works fine. I would polish my catch hook(s) with a dremel and some 600 grit abrasive on a felt pad if I think the finish is a bit "rough" or imagine i feel a bur on the contact surfaces. So far have not bought any G2's from them that needed it, but I've seen one that was visibly rough, as well as rough to the touch on the underside of the hammer hooks on the trigger.

You can't go wrong with the G2, it's easy to install (just make sure the hammer is facing the right direction.)

+1 and make sure you install the sleave that comes with the trigger assy. It's not just an aid for installation it's required.

THat is what I am saying, when I called and ordered my kit, they said there was no sleeve just the exact same parts as the original only made in the U.S.

Is there a sleeve in the original parts also.

If its a real Tapco G2 trigger pack it should come with the sleeve. Dont know why they would just leave it out.

Maybe their selling the old Gordon Tech G2s? They didn't have the sleeve. At some point, Tapco bought them out IIRC. Don't know where Copes got them if they are Gordon Tech.

spoke with the owner of copes today and he said his employee made a mistake, the g2 triggers do come sleeved, he took care of it with no shipping charges. Very good buisness.

On a side note I ordered my kits yesterday and received them today!

Yes. I have a G2 in ever AK I own. Best trigger around IMHO.
