Can't see why it wouldn't as long as the barrel is the same dimensions.  Otherwise, you'd have to do some lathe work to get it to fit.

No biggie if you have access to the tools and know how to use them.  You'd have to drill the gas port, which can be tricky, and finish the metal, though.  Best bet would be to compare it to an existing barrel to determine what dimensions, if any, need to be altered.

Socandyman or Fat_McNasty could probably provide more details.

Basically, the question is:

Is this barrel a drop-in replacement for a Romanian barrel?

If so, that would be nice.  I too would appreciate any comments.

I dont think it will work with a Romy as its designed for a Yugo AK.

Im sure with the proper tools it could be made to work, but you can get a new kit with a barrel for $99.

Why would you even bother?? It will cost 2-3 times the cash and effort to make it work.

Just buy a Romy kit, use the barrel and sell off the un-needed parts.

Belive me, you will thank yourself later.

There's way easier ways to get the US Parts count than altering a Yugo barrel to fit a Romy.

If it is a " "Factory New" Virgin M70-Zastava" barrel, doesn't that mean it's imported and wouldn't count for a US part anyways?

Maybe he's thinking of the new US made Yugo barrels available at Cope's?

Yes, that's correct.  The topic was "virgin barrel", and given that U.S. AK barrels are now being made, I would consider one as a compliance part, regardless of whether or not there are "easier ways" to get compliance parts.  Personally, I would rather use a new barrel (if it were to drop in) when building from a kit than remove and replace the piston.

FYI guys, I came across this on another board showing how someone built using a virgin / uncut barrel...
