Hello all, Thanks for your help on previous posts, me and a friend are trying to figure out just what's needed for building one of these bad mamma jammas... so we've got an FFl friend who is willing to help us by receiving the 100% receiver, but my friend here is the type that would like to avoid all that paper work so he's itching to try an 80% receiver but is worried about putting the ejector and rails in the exact right spot... so what I'm trying to say is: 1. How difficult is it to put everything where it is supposed to go? (so the gun functions) and 2. anybody know of an 80% receiver that has all the bits installed, hardened, and just needs drilling? do they even have those? |

not really a good idea to try a 80% on your first build you should build atleast 1 to get an idea of how thangs go befor you start trying to make your own its not worth building you own rec unless you want to for the pure joy of the pita it will give you if you work for the kid next door doing his chores for 5 bucks an hour and buy the rec you will be money ahaid LOL ![]() |

Putting the rails in is easy 1/4in. keystock between the top rail and the bottom rail clamp and weld . They dont have those (that I know of) Go ahead and do an 80% just buy spairs. Really it is cheaper to get a "papered" receiver anyhow. You dont need a bending jig , or spot welder. and you woulnt spend soo much time with the dremel. Jig $125.oo-$210.oo Spotwelder&tongs $180.oo-$250.oo Dremel cutting wheels $8.00 And dont froget Hydrolic press $85.oo-$170.oo So you do get the satisfaction of building it yourself but when you can get a receiver for 75.oo that is ready to go. Are you more interested in staying off paper and going broke or building the rifle you really want . Your post count is very low and people get suspisous around here when 80%is mentioned by double didgit post count holders. WTTW (word to the wise) |
