[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Receiver rust?

I recently received a Armory USA receiver that has some rust coming from where the rails were installed to the receiver. Is this anything I need to worry about? Is it common?

Your's isn't the first one with some rust that I've heard about. If it's just surface rust, it'll come off with a sandblaster pretty easily. If you don't have a sandblaster, some naval jelly should remove it. If it's pitted from rust, I'd send it back.

Thanks for the reply. The rust seems to be surface only and on the inside of the receiver, so I'm not worried about it cosmetically. The redish substance is on the inside, where the rails were welded to the receiver. I've sprayed some Break Free/CLP in there to try to kill anything from spreading...
