Its easy if you have a drill press.

+1 on the drill press.

Do you have access to a drill press?

Or do you have access to a vise?

I dont know about the vise or drill press, they come right out and go right in with ease with me. What i do is wear a leather glove and just use some force and push it right in, i can take one off in about five seconds and put one on in less than two. Clamp the rifle in a vise on the spot where the rear sight base attaches to the barrel (its a nice flat location to clamp on to, use non marring jaws though, clamp it down) that will hold the rifle in place, then position you body and hand over the sight. Put the end of the sight in the palm of your hand (with a glove on) and just push downwards, it will pop right in. To take it out do the same thing except when you're pushing down also apply backwards pressure and it will come right out.  McM

Leather work glove is the key!

you can make a site tool out of a 3/8 in open end
takes about 5 min then you can pull them off or put them on in about 3 sec

HERES LINK ON HOWTO BUILD

its in the archive so you have to be a team member to view
i cant get to it to bring it back from archive
but if you where thinking of becoming a member nows a good time
just look at it this way the tool cost 20+ to buy but i show you how to make it for the price of a crappy 3/8 open end you prolly have anyway END SALES PITCH NOW LOL

I have found that if you take a hardened nail punch, place it in the dimple in the spring of the rear sight and tap it to the front while pressing down, the spring will pop out. To replace it is just the reverse. Works for me, cause I am lazy sometimes

Flip the sight up perpendicular to the barrel, smack it lightly with
a rubber, or plastic mallet, it pops out.

The angle of the spring feeds the pins out through the little channels
when struck at this angle.

To reinstall, feed it in at about 45 degrees up from its base and hit it again.
