We just finished up this build for a good friend of ours. He supplied the Maadi furniture. He also wanted something a tad more "real" looking in the receiver department. Kit was a B Grade Romanian.

| This particular one is a DPH flat. I made the press dies to stamp the left and rightside third axis pin dimples along with the dimple for the leftside of the selector. Selector markings are stamped also, as were the originals. The white is a crayon type thing I got from Brownells. You fill up the recess and wipe off the excess. It hardens somewhat over time. |
If you don't mind my asking.. what is different about that rifle regarding legal stuff? I'm a bit of an AK newbie..

It is legal to build your own - it is not legal for you to build one for someone else...in the case of doing a build from a flat. Since this came out of my son's shop, properly marked, etc, then it's ok since it qualifies as a manufactured rifle...make sense. We can also take your flats and add all the extra dimples and what not to them, Whatever selector markings you wish, etc. |
