Any body ever had a problem with the G2 FCG in a Yugo AK? I just put my first AK together and the hammer seems to be following the carrier foward without engaging the disconnector. It seems the carrier isn't depressing the hammer enough for the disconnector to pick it up, and so if the trigger is held down as the action is cycled the hammer follows the carrier. Anyboby ever had a similar problem? Any idea how to fix it?

Did you install the hammer backwards?  I did that on my first build.

Nope, hammer seems to be installed correctly. The hammer catches on the sear as long as the trigger isn't being held, and if I push it down by hand it engages the disconnector, but if the carrier does it its a no-go.

Did you install the spring in the hammer?  I forgot that before.

After looking a little more, if I position the carrier so that its pushing the hammer down as much as it can, it only takes a little more movement (pushing the hammer down the rest of the way with a pen) before it engages the disconnector. If I removed a little material from the hook portion of the disconnector, would it ruin the heat treat (is it even heat treated)?

The G2 would be the last thing I'd suspect.  What kinde of receiver is this?  Post a pic of the FGC in the receiver if possible.

Its a DCI reciever (Harlan et al at NoDak). Also, if you push the carrier down by hand as its over the hammer, it catches the disconnector. I'm thinking the upper rail might be a tiny bit out of spec, at least for this particular build. Maybe a little gentle persuasion of the rail in the appropriate direction....

Fixed the problem. I filed a little off the disconnector. Works as Mr. Kalashnikov intended it to now. It only took a few passes with the file, really didn't need to remove much.
