I just came from Military Gun Supply over in Fort Worth and was talking with the owner. He said he just got clarification from BATF on the new barrel import law. According to him, all parts kits imported into the US will have to have the barrel cut in half. How the F**K do you like that. If its true that is. Has anyone else out there heard anything similar? I'm going to do some searching on the ATF website to see if I can find anything. If it's true we'd better buy all the parts kits we can afford now cause the price just went up about $150. If they only cut them in half... we will all be filing Form 1s and making SBRs! I am glad to see I wasn't the only one that was sleaping... I just woke up yesterday to realize this was happening but I was glad to see kits can still be found (at this moment at least). |
No sweat man!  It will a depend on where and how the barrels are cut. If they cut it past the gas block fine, just in front of the chamber bad.

Very cool! I hadn't heard that part. It would be nice to boost the supply of historical Garands and M1 carbines, and drive down prices for the benefit of us non-lottery winners. At least there's a bit of silver lining to this barrel ban BS. |
