I just bought a press and wanted to press my rivets in the front trunnion how do I do this. Do I press the barrel back in or what? Thanks (next time I build one I won't have to ask soon many questions.)

Not saying it can't be done, but not exactly the way it should be done either.  There's been several discussions about using the barrel as a bucking bar for installing rivets.  I don't know that trying to press them in with a press is gonna work at all though.

Without installing the barrel the press wouldn't do much cause you can put the rivets in by hand.

With the barrel installed as a bucking bar, most likely your rivets will simply crush flat out side the receiver.

I thought that using the barrel as a bucking bar would work. If it will not work what do I use for a bucking bar?? I bought the press thinking I was killing two birds with one stone. I thought that I could press the barrrel out and back in. Plus not have to buy/build a rivet squeezer/bolt cutters. So what is my best opition here? Some sort of bucking bar, or rivet squeezer? And will the press work on the rear trunnion?

Sir, you have to purchase some more tooling!  (or make some if you have the means to do so)  The barrel is pressed out of the trunion to make room for setting rivets through the trunion and the sheet metal receiver.  I don't really believe that the barrel makes a very good buck for setting rivets!  (If you are willing to make a reliable rifle.)  You will need CWToyota's rivet (bolt cutter) rivet squeezer at the least, or Plinker's rivet jig at the most.  Note - Plinker's jig will counter sink the front trunion holes where needed too!  This is a very important step in making the rivets absolutely reliable.

I would strongly suggest that you do several Internet searches at Gunco.net, Gunsnet and here.   Read everything that you can find about setting rivets during an AK build, BEFORE you purchase anymore tooling.

Yours,
One Rusty Nut.
