Anyone know if you can modify an RPK lower handguard to fit an AMD65?

you actually need to mod the retainer on the rifle not the hg's
all you do is take a cutoff wheel and cut the lip where it starts to turn tword the barrel so it gos strait up
takes all of 5 min then your rpk grip will fit on along with any other ak grip

The front, and the rear for that matter, of the RPK lower handguard has alot more "meat".  The front retainer is quite a bit larger than the standard AKM retainer......that being said, years ago when RPK stock sets were dirt cheap, we used to trim them down and put them on Maadi RPM's to build pseudo RPKs.  So, with some trimming, they will fit.

Russian new RPK wood on a Maddi  took about a hour to fit the handguards..
