I see you are putting this in motion!!! I also think its a great idea! And you should make it in two colors: Black and Plum! One more thing, what kind of material would it be when molded into plastic? Dragunov US made kind or hollow AK plastic stock kind? lol Robo.

| it might work to try and use a stock from a MAK 90 or a Maadi thumb hole stock, if you look at the length it is definately longer that a regular stock...a stock from a SAR 1 would not work due to the cleaning kit compartment, it would severely weaken the but area, I somewhere have a MAK 90 thumb hole stock I might take a pic and doctor it up with photo shop to see if it would work, it would be a lot of sanding though |

That stock looks cool. What kind of ak is that? The rivets on the rear block look like where they are on a Yugo. Also it looks like that may be a bolt holding it on to the rear block through the end of the stock. I haven't seen that variation before, you are on to something Duke. |
| I think I found a guy who is interested he has a site and make Thompson stocks but has made some Ak ones as well going by the pictures on his site ThompsonStocks.com he does some nice work. I believe that is a Yugo Ak of some kind but I dont really know anything about it there is a post in the Ak general discussion on it. I cant say for sure if I can make a synthetic one or not but either way I would have a sexy looking wood one. |
I did notice the webbed area and thought that it was on the left side. Now you got me wondering if it is ambidextrious(centered), since I am a lefty. |

Sounds like there is one of what you want in the EE 59. Z_recto custom AK stockset. 3 USA made parts (4 pieces total), laminated wood. This set was made for me. he does not make them any more. The buttstock is a laminated triangle shape (like a krinkov but wood) and has side sling mount cut out already for standard buttsock sling loop. Grip is a thin laminated AKm Pattern, handguards are made of 3 pieces of laminated wood (like real ones and are AKM/74 pattern. The upper handguard is laminated and is made from a bent piece of wood just like the real ones $90 ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=123&t=275714 |

go through this thread, it is a Rim fire site mainly 10/22 in this section but some talk about how they "skeletonized"(sp) there factory stock's Skeletonized Stocks |

Quoted: I have detailed images of one of these rifles - Iraqi 'Tabuk' - otherwise it is a Yugo-pattern, RPK receivered AK with windage adjustable rear sight - even has Yugo-type grip. Weird, huh? Here's a better look: OODA_Loop, thanks for the pic, do you have a pic of the other side of that stock that you may post? What does 'Tabuk' mean? |
Big plus one any additional info would be great. |
