So iam thinking off trying to build a romanian kit. Please correct me if iam wrong, I can purchase a kit for about 120.00 then i need a reciver about 75.00 then some rivets 20.00 what else do i need to build the rifle ? Is there a site where i can get detailed instructions /pics of how to go about building this rifle ? Also how long should it take if you were to sit down from start to finish your first build /just trying to get an idea of how difficult this is going to be thanks |

Ive only done a couple, so I dont have any tools, but the actual building part isnt that bad. You just need to get the hole locations correct. Some photocopy the trunion and use that for a template. I found that if you drill one side, then just make sure your still straight, and drill right through the other side, instead of flipping it over and redrilling the template. riveting isnt to bad, but the steel rivets are a bit harder than the aluminum ones Im used to. Be prepared to customize as needed, some rivets ride on folders, some safety's need trimming. Look around here, Im sure you wont have to back very far to get all your answers, or hop over to gunco.net and they will also help you. also on your shopping list, compliance parts, mostly trigger groups, new stock, youll also need something to refinish it with, or you can drag it around the back yard for that been there done that look. Some screw while others rivet. Try and get a kit with the front trunion removed from the barrel or youll have to find someone to press it out for you (im currently in that boat myself) I dont have alot of answers but will try to as best I can. Start to fireable with the trunion seperate from the barrel, Id say about 2 1/2 hours to be careful. Mostly its 12 rivets and then reinstalling the barrel. fiddling with the fcg, and then all night and half the next day getting that damn shepards hook on correctly. |

well, my first build took at least 40 hours. (or three weeks, whichever comes first) Now I can do three in a day, not including finishing. Once I did 3 in nine hours, not including finishing. These were hybrid screw/rivet builds. Finishing can take twice as long as building, depending. Sandblasting and painting is the quickest, maybe two or three hours. So, if you are an experienced builder, 5 hours is about as fast as humanly possible for one person. Two experienced buildered working together can cat that time down more than X3 That means you will be lucky to get it done in a week, unless you are a |
