I'm back to building my PMKMS (Polish underfolder), finally. I have decided to buy, rather than build, my receiver. Where can I get a receiver that will work with the underfolder stock? I used to have a list of different places to get receivers, but it was on my computer and got wiped out. It's been a long time since I've even thought about this project, and I've forgotten a lot. But now I'm ready to finish it. I have a real nice parts kit that wants to be a gun! |

I found a picture of the OOW receiver and it looks like something is in the way of the holes. The picture wasn't up close, so I'm not sure if it is just the company logo, or the serial #. Does any one know if the Arsenal USA/Global Trades receivers are good? Thanks, Brizz |

Where? I don't find it on the Arsenal/Global Trades site. I thought I'd seen an add for one already cut, but I can't find it anywhere now. www.globaltrades.com I think I emailed them to ask where the serial # is (It may have been someone else, I've tried a lot of things, without getting conclusive answers) , and haven't heard back yet. I'd like to get this project done, but I don't want to spend money on things that won't work for me.he The last gun store I went into wouldn't sell receivers. He told me it was a big liability. He told me it wasn't safe. He told me it was too hard to do. He agreed with a customer in the store that said 'you would never be able to sell it'. It's amazing how many guys there are that work for a gun dealer and don't know anything about gun laws, and discourage learning how to work on them. |
I just did 2 74 builds on the new Arsenal reciever and I got to tell ya they are far superior to any other sheet metal us made reciever!!! I know as I'm a gunsmith and have at least a hundred ak builds under my belt. I would recomend them on the underfold your looking to build. by the way the serial#'s are on the front right(under the trunion rivets) |
I just received my Arsenal/Global receivers today and I couldn't agree more. They are absolutely gorgeous! A real quality piece of work if there ever was one. I got mine already parkerized and they did a Grade-A job. Global was a little backed-up in their production so delivery took a little longer than I would have liked but it was certainly worth the wait. I called them today and things are beginning to flow much faster now. Yup, all markings are on the forward end of the receiver and well out of the way from any holes or trimming that may be required. |
| Don't the Arssenal Receivers require grinding down the trunions because the receiver shell is 1.6 mm thick? I went with OOW. Just got back from picking up two receivers. The serial # is right beside the tigger guard, on the bottom of the receiver on the left. Looks like A person might have to cut through part of the logo on the left side for a folding stock, but I am not sure yet, it might just nick it. They are in the white, with thin blueing. You can definatly see the heat treated areas. They look like top quality just like the original recievers. For $50 a pop I can't complain. |
